The draw ceremony for the 37th Men’s European Water Polo
Championship – Belgrade 2026 will take place on Saturday, September 13, at 7 PM, at the
White Palace.
This event marks the official countdown to the most prestigious water polo competition on the
continent next year, which will bring together the 16 best European national teams from
January 10 to 25 in the Belgrade Arena – the largest indoor venue in the Balkans.
Speeches at the draw ceremony will be delivered by Antonio José Silva, President of the
European Aquatics Federation, and Viktor Jelenić, President of the Water Polo Federation of
Serbia. Among the distinguished guests will be numerous leading figures from the European
and world water polo community, delegations of national federations from participating
countries, as well as water polo legends who have left a lasting mark on the sport’s history.
The draw will be broadcast live on Arena Premium 5 and RTS 1 channels, while viewers
worldwide will be able to follow it via live stream.
The European Championship in Belgrade will also mark two important anniversaries – 20 years
since the 2006 European Championship and 10 years since the unforgettable 2016 tournament,
when our “Dolphins” won the gold medal in front of the home crowd.
At the 2026 European Championship, national teams of Serbia, Spain, Croatia, Italy, Hungary,
Greece, and other water polo powerhouses will compete for the continental title, while fans
will once again experience the spectacular atmosphere that only Belgrade can deliver.
